Excavations & Street Openings
Any person, contractor, or utility planning to open, excavate, dig, trench, or bore into a Borough-owned street, alley, or right-of-way must obtain a permit from the Highway Department before starting work. Emergency utility repairs may begin immediately but must be permitted by the next regular business day.

Recycling Program
In July, 2018, Tyrone Borough Council approved the development of a borough recycling program, saving thousands of dollars in tax payer money. This brochure will explain the program and outline the do’s and don’ts for recycling.
Yard Waste Collection
In addition to the Yard Waste Drop Off, the Tyrone Borough Highway Department picks up yard waste every Monday in April and May and October and November. Yard waste must be in brown paper yard bags and be placed at the curb by 7am.
